Monday, October 29th Meeting

On Monday, October 29th the girls will be celebrating two wonderful occations - The birthday of the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low, and of course Halloween!

It looks as if we are going to have quite the celebration with the amount of food the parents have agreed to bring. The girls are going to rededicate to Girl Scouts by recieving thier star pin to represent another year in Girl Scouting. Our new members will recieve thier Brownie Pin and WAGS Pin.

We have a fun activity that focuses on a glow in the dark project.

Hopefully Frankenstorm will leave us alone and we can continue on with our celebration. If Frankenstorm decides to wreak havoc on us the meeting will be cancelled. If you receive a call and/or email from me that means the meeting is cancelled otherwise we will be meeting as scheduled at 6:30p in the Cafeteria of Clear Stream Avenue School.

2012 - 2013 Girl Scouting Year!

This year our troop is going to working with a Junior Troop. This is our last year as Brownies and it is time for the girls to start to take the lead in meetings and in scouting in general. The girls will be completing thier Brownie Journey - the Brownie Quest and they will get an opportunity to see what it takes to work towards thier Bronze Award.

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve! The girls must complete a Take Action Project during thier 4th and 5th grade and complete on of the Junior Journey Books. The project should be a minimum of 20 hours per girl scout and the projects do not need to be pre-approved from Girl Scouts of Nassau County, but approval is required from your Girl Scout Leader.
